Bug#457955: backupninja: Backupninja should not depend on mailx or mailutils

2009-04-19 Thread e...@mailus.de

Actually, Section 7.2 of Debian policy says

"The Depends field should be used if the depended-on package is required
for the depending package to provide a significant amount of
functionality."

This is clearly not the case, is it? Sending a mail after backup is done
doesn't sound like "significant amount of functionality" to me.

So it is a policy violation?

greetings,
Erik

Bug#590247: 'xlockmore -mode blank' crashes

2010-09-26 Thread e...@mailus.de

ok, I missed this bug and filled a duplicate with bug #597405.

For the Author: This bug is probably caused by the debian patch
07_dpmsblank.dpatch.

Your dpms is probably disabled.

xlock should start when dpms is enabled.

Erik

Bug#591279: xlockmore: -mode blank should not use DPMS by default

2010-09-26 Thread e...@mailus.de
I agree. I believe this is caused by the debian patch 07_dpmsblank.dpatch
- Upstream doesn't do this!

In my use-case this is also very inconvenient since I use xlock to lock my
X prior to going into suspend.

This patch should be removed or at least made optional.

Erik
