[Bug ld/2112] New: Binutils LD fails at line 6419 of elflink.c

GNU,
I am using GCC 4.0.2 with binutils 2.16 and newlib 1.13.0. This build consists
of a bunch of relocatable or partially linked files (*.ro). The partial
compilations and links work just fine but when I get to the final link, I get
the following error message with no clue what is wrong:

powerpc-eabi-ld: BFD 2.16 internal error, aborting at
../../binutils-2.16/bfd/elflink.c line 6419 in elf_link_output_extsym

powerpc-eabi-ld: Please report this bug.

I can supply the .ro files and linker script file if necessary.

It is possible that this problem has been fixed in current CVS trunk binutils. 
Please try a newer binutils, and if that fails I'll take a looks at your object
files if you make them available somehow.
