[arch-general] Issue with browser opening in LXDE

2018-06-15 Thread Giovanni Santini (ItachiSan) via arch-general
Hi everyone,

I am having an issue which is bothering me recently; I have set up properly the
default browser within LXDE but the links are not handled properly. What it
happens is that I click on a link and a windows opens returning
Error: $HOME/$URL: Not existing file or directory
Where $HOME is my home path and $URL is the target URL.
I have no clue regarding what configuration makes it so.
Any suggestions?

Here it is:
$ pacman -Qs xdg-utils
local/xdg-utils 1.1.3-2
...
Anyways, found out the issue: I tracked down the application used for setting
the default browser and it appears to be libfm-pref-apps. For some strange
reasons, applying Firefox as default and saving didn't work, but switching to
another browser, saving and closing and then setting again properly Firefox did
the trick. I am not sure if it can be reproduced by others, but now it works
for me; hoping others won't have my same problem.

Regards,
P.S. is not-text-only mail OK here?

[arch-general] Icons issues with LXPanel

2018-09-11 Thread Giovanni Santini (ItachiSan) via arch-general
Hey everyone,

I am an user of LXDE and I pretty happy with it, but I just have some weird
issue with lxpanel:
My terminal (GNOME Terminal) has no icon in the panel, but after resizing the
bar it does appear

Some Electron-based apps (Mailspring and Franz) do not show their icons in the
panel and have instead a generic icon

I am not sure this can be considered as a bug or not, so I reported it here
first.
Any opinions on this? Would be better if I can fix it.

Thanks everyone in advance!
