Sure, but I don't have it here:

[02:21 archangel:/etc/clamav] # lsmod | grep nouveau

That's OK, I'll take those to :)

/etc/modprobe.d/nouveau_blacklist.conf
/etc/modprobe.d/nouveau_blacklist.conf is owned by nvidia 260.19.12-1

You are correct, Sir!

Yep, and 31A is show by scan. I've tried others as well. They all just keep
getting rejected for some reason?

I'll try nomodeset and report back.

That worked! Thanks. But, G., what changed to make whatever checks
now not
like the hex designation? I have used the hex designation for at least a
*decade*.

I have no idea why this happens, but I came across this myself with my

[arch-general] Postgresql-docs is Broken

2010-10-29 Thread Steve Holmes
I just downloaded the latest 9.01 version of postgresql-docs which
supposedly should contain the html documentation for postgresql.
Alas, the package size is less than 1 K and when installed, a
pacman -Qql
only reveals some man directories under /usr/share. There are no
files present. Is anyone aware of this situation?

It is a bug, but this isn't the place for reporting it...
https://bugs.archlinux.org/?project=1

It is pretty easy to confirm yourself, note the difference in size and
the files list:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/postgresql-docs/
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/postgresql-docs/

Finally, always include the arch of the package if it is not arch='any'.

[arch-general] New ghostscript segfaults with hylafax?

2010-10-29 Thread David C. Rankin
Guys,

Ghostscript segfaults when sending faxes with hylafax:

Oct 29 13:51:12 localhost kernel: gs[9456]: segfault at 8 ip 007b62b0 sp
7fff67f352a8 error 4 in gs[40+6be000]

This is with:

hylafax 6.0.4-1
ghostscript 9.00-1

What do check (any logs other than everything.log?) Any tests you can
think of
to run?

I know very little about the interplay between ghostscript and hylafax
other
than it either works or it doesn't. So if anybody has any ideas on how to
diagnose, I welcome your thoughts.

FYI - I have also followed up with the hylafax devs and will forward any

Thanks Dave.

Do you (all) think this needs a bug opened? There must be a reason why,
but
given the lack of chatter I have seen about it, it must be fairly rare. Dunno if
it is worth chasing. Arch-dev thoughts?

I wouldn't be too sure about that:

Move all to testing and then I'll do the missing rebuilds. LibO will
probably also need rebuild.

Rebuild is in [testing] now. It appears that libreoffice does not
need a rebuild.

Ah... so it does... It appears I had an old version in my cache when I

More for upstream than for achlinux and perhaps it will very hard to find it.
Some time ago i switched from 791 to 0x317 because of the same reason as you
now. It seems for me normal user that one of this 2 ways works even better than
the other. I would say that you can save your time and enjoy that it works now
