When the file chooser opens, click the No Image button.
Observe as ~/.face is set to an image.

The problem may be with Compiz, because it does not seem to occur when
Desktop Effects are disabled. The problem I am having is in Evince,

Hi I'd just like to confirm that this behavior is really desired. After
I click "No Image", my face is set to that icon. It doesn't just show
up in the About Me menu. For instance, when I am unlocking my screen
saver, that picture is there. That seems odd to me.

Before changing any About Me settings, the screen saver unlock dialog
has no image at all. When I choose "No Image", a file called .face
(which is an svg image, attached earlier) is created in my home
directory, and it is used in the screen saver dialog. I have to delete
/home/myuser/.face to rea
I just noticed today that I could zoom in when the screen was locked,
and then suddenly realized my Amarok shortcuts were working. Since
reading these comments, I realize I can also type a command into a run
dialog while the screen is locked. Just zoom in, and shortcuts start

Right, just with Compiz. I have only tried with Compiz and Metacity,
but with Metacity the presentation always displays full-screen.

The blue gradients really stand out, as well. There is a nice icon as
part of the Humanity icon set, but the icon shown in the notification
area doesn't fit well with the rest of the desktop.
