I built a test kernel using the following commands (last line is the
kernel it actually built for you, 17.32 contained the fix for this bug):
sudo aptitude install linux-kernel-devel fakeroot build-essential
ubuntu-dev-tools git
git-clone git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-hardy.git openvz
cd

see http://blog.omma.net/?p=11 for reference on how to get proposed
updates and enjoy your new (hopefully) working kernel afterwards

When X is running, the recovery stuff integrated in the xserver seems to

Use case:

In some environments, e.g. OpenVZ on a Hardy host, /etc/init.d/loopback
is used to populate /var/run/network. Since Jaunty this script has been
removed in favor of udev rules. udev does not run when using OpenVZ, so
jaunty VEs are rendered unusab

Shouldn't the Ubuntu-Eclipse work without Sun Java? I was assuming it
does, that's why I didn't even bother tempering with Sun Java for
eclipse.
