[PHP] strip ALL HTML tags in a page so only the text

I'm develloping a mail application, wich sends single part e-mail with PHP. for users who want the text version, I want to strip the HTML version and send what's left (plain text) to them. Can anybody tell me the best way to do this, I mean stripping all teh HTML tages with PHP.
