Hi Owen, I had a similar problem last month: I wanted to insert the word Ramadan in Arabian letters and it didn't work. I found the word in wikipedia and wanted to brush up a headline with it.
In that case, AbiWord could get it right, so I enlarged it there and made a screenshot of it. This could be inserted in Scribus. Rolf
