I do too. Long text documents with automatic text frames are not speedy. That is partly because the Scribus format is XML based, but more robust than binary files. Moreover, Qt is not a speed demon, but getting better. The best speed-up hints: 1) Keep the number of fonts reasonable - under 100 2) If you are ambitious, recompile Qt and use the latest 3.1.2 and Scribus with march=pentium4 or whatever is appropriate for your setup 3) Lock text frames after the content is edited. This sometimes speeds up redraws. 4) Disable anti-aliasing in qtconfig.
