awesome. (i was searching for "socket" in the manual, which explains why i
didn't find it.)

btw, the note in the manual

     _Caution_: The `$STY' environment variable still reflects the old
     name. This may result in confusion.  The default is constructed
     from the tty and host names.

could be a little clearer. if i understand correctly, it refers to STY in
existing processes under that screen--new processes (e.g. new tabs) seem to
get the new session name.
