Hi!

They are in brackets because they are NOT in the database.

The Elo values that scid produces come from the games and from the games only.
If you import a game (e.g. pgn) that has no Elo attributes, it will also be
without Elo value in your database.

Scid tries to be smart and provides a most likely (yet virtual) Elo figure in
that case. In the game list this figure is presented between brackets - to show
you it is virtual.

You may be able to attach real Elo values to the game through the scid spell
checker. First correct the player names; next correct player ratings. Surely
this will only work for players known in your *ratings*.ssp spellcheck file.

Cheers,
Joost.

Subject: [Scid-users] bracketed elo ratings

Can someone explain to me why some of the W-Elo and B-Elo vlaues
in my databases are in brackets ? These values don't register as numeric
and don't appear in the ratings graph.
