Chess dBases typically (so does Scid) are aware of positions only. So if 
a position in your game matches the position in another game, both games 
match. At that point, and without taking the move order in which the 
positions was reached (and ideally the number of moves that position was 
reached in) into consideration. So the games currently match, but it 
might be the case that they did not match from the beginning. This is 
also what chess is about...

What sort of result would you expect from the comparison you miss?
