Generally, you are right, but these problems appeared recently, so my guess
was that they may be somehow caused by recent changes (same for your
problems, isn't it?).

I don't know about adding features (this is for Pascal to decide), but you
are certainly right about tracker - this will make things a lot easier to
manage.
