Sorry - forgot that! Yes I'm using a somewhat dated Slackware Linux, and
I compiled the Scid 4 like a lot of other stuff.
My comments about the iconv issue relates to the earlier thread about
slovak language support.
Here's the error log from Scid 4 when I try to fetch my ICCF games:
