Seems to be a global hotkeys on issue. Pascal, maybe the arrow keys, 
home/end etc which are used for text field editing should not be listed

I think this is most likely probably not an issue with Scid. Could it be 
that you've a lot of wifi networks around you who disturb each other? 
Ie. that your network has to switch channels eg. Another issue where I 
know this happens is madwifi in conjunction with network manager. These 
two do not work well together. (If this can be an issue you might send 
me PM, it's a bit far from scid here ;)
