Which version of Scid do you use ? You must use at least version 3.6.25
(there is a but in Rybka that needs the use of a workaround). Of course I
suppose you checked UCI option.
When running Rybka on the command line, can you really start it thinking ?
Rybka works for me on a 32 bit PC under Linux. If it really works in CLI, it
must work under Scid.
