I went back to my normal CClient connection and found after a couple of logins to FICS using Scid all my account setting had got messed around. After an hour or so of hunting around I got all my settings back to where I wanted them, so I'd say unless you intend to use Scid and nothing else to connect to FICS, maybe some caution is required, well that's just my experience for what it's worth.
