Hello all, Since there came up a font issue about "Helvetica" id est this:
" > Could it be that you changed font? I'd say last night it was > > Helvetica, today it seems Courier and this one is readable > > at that size, indeed. Hence, recent cvs uses a bit a big > > font but its ok now. > > Yes, I changed it in case, and using Courier I am sure it works everywhere. " I can refer to this: 1) Windows default fonts http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/www/fonts.html 2) Fonts installed by Windows http://www.kayskreations.net/fonts/fonttb.html 3) Fonts supplied* with Windows 3.1 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=133 4) Fonts supplied* with Windows 95 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=105 5) Fonts supplied* with Windows 95 Version Upgrade http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=106 6) Fonts supplied* with Windows 98 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=107 7) Fonts supplied* with Windows 98 Second Edition http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=108 8) Fonts supplied* with Windows NT Terminal Server 4.0 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=109 9) Fonts supplied* with Windows NT Workstation 3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=110 10) Fonts supplied* with Windows NT Workstation 4.0 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=111 11) Fonts supplied* with Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP4 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=112 12) Fonts supplied* with Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP5 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=113 13) Fonts supplied* with Windows NT Workstation 4.0b http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=114 14) Fonts supplied* with Windows XP http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=135 15) Fonts supplied* with Windows XP SP2 http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=145 16) Fonts and products http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/ and see that there are very FEW default fonts that are available on all Windows versions,so in case you want to have a standard look on all versions of Windows you will have to select one font that is available on all Windows versions... As an executive summary I suggest you look at the link 2) and see that only "Courier" and "Times New Roman" and "Arial" are installed in all Windows versions ("Helvetica" is NOT installed in ANY Windows version,so I would suggest that "Courier" and "Times New Roman" or "Arial" is used unless Scid installs other fonts in Windows with the help of Inno Setup or describe in the documentation how to install these fonts with "Start/Run" "control.exe fonts" "File/Install new font" by selecting the full file path to it there like for example "C:\Program files\Scid2623\ttffonts" where the *.ttf-fonts are stored)...
