Appearances can be deceiving, especially as the manpage of urxvtc
disagrees with that in the first paragraph:

   Currently, it always returns immediately after contacting the daemon.

urxvtc itself cannot do that - I would suggest replacing it by urxvt if
that is required. The alternative would be some kind of communication
between the command you start and the process that is waiting.
