Free means you don't have to use those CD's in order to use RT(AI)Linux.
And I suppose you can make copies of them too. So the end result is whenever
you
need to install 100 machines with the same software you don't have to pay
more.
(correct FSMLabs and Lineo?).
Those companies also put much effort in the FREE software, so we shouldn't
expect
to get everything for free. If you want to have a nice installation, which
saves you some
time, you will probably buy the CD anyway if - like in the business world -
this will save
you some money (time=money!). And you also shouldn't compare it to a
mainstream
Linux distribution. Those are sold way more often.
It is not that I wouldn't like to have it cheap, but I also have to keep in
mind those companies
have to make money too. And as I said before: time=money
