I am attempting to connect to a linux rsync server with a Windows 98 client
which is DHCP (ie dynamically assigned a virtual IP (10.1.1.1) from a proxy
server)

The rsync process occurs properly if I were to statically assign an IP to
the Win98 client. But when the machine is dynamically assigned an IP
address from a Microsoft BackOffice Proxy Server the following error occurs:

failed to connect to 199.247.53.123 - errno EHOSTUNREACH triggered

Can rsync run from a DHCP client? It seems to me as soon as I click the
Obtain IP Addess Dynamically on the netconfig of the windows machine the
error listed above occurs.
What does this error actually mean? What are the possible sources for the
error?

Thank You for your attention,
