I am attempting to connect to a linux rsync server with a Windows 98 client which is DHCP (ie dynamically assigned a virtual IP (10.1.1.1) from a proxy server) The rsync process occurs properly if I were to statically assign an IP to the Win98 client. But when the machine is dynamically assigned an IP address from a Microsoft BackOffice Proxy Server the following error occurs: failed to connect to 199.247.53.123 - errno EHOSTUNREACH triggered Can rsync run from a DHCP client? It seems to me as soon as I click the Obtain IP Addess Dynamically on the netconfig of the windows machine the error listed above occurs. What does this error actually mean?
