Hi,
sometime ago I downloaded the rkhunter-1.4.4 tarball from SourceForge
and installed it on openSuse leap 15.0. I usually extract it in the
downloads folder and install it from there, using the command
#./installer.sh --install But a whim hit me, and I moved the extracted
file to /home/myhome/rkhunter and installed it from there. It worked
fine, no problems.
Recently I downloaded the rkhunter-1.4.6 tarball from SourceForge and
installed it on the same computer. I extracted it in the downloads
folder, and as was my usual custom I installed it from there forgetting
that I had installed rkhunter-1.4.4 from a different folder. It seemed
to install normally, without problems. But now it won't run.
Here is what happens:
linux-2b8:/home/lx1/Downloads/rkhunter-1.4.6 # ./installer.sh --install

If 'rkhunter' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the
package that contains it, like this:
cnf rkhunter
I have tried removing all rkhunter files on the computer and
reinstalling rkhunter-1.4.6. That didn't fix the problem.
I also tried downloading the tarball a second time after
clearing the computer of all rkhunter files,
then extracting, and reinstalling. But I still have the same
result.
Anyone have an idea why this isn't working now, and how I can
fix it?
Thanks,
Mark
