Nope. It was installed by zypper (package manager) itself. I did edit it
though, but using vim. Could it be a vim issue then? The other
configuration files (apache, etc.) were edited in the same way and are
all OK though...

I just corrected the line which was causing the problem
(PermitRootLogin). sshd has no quarrel with it, so I'd rather not tinker
too much with the file anytime soon  :)
