Hi all,
I have a small question, my latest rhhunter scan logs this....
/usr/sbin/prelink: /bin/grep: at least one of file's dependencies has changed
since prelinking
/bin/grep [ BAD ]
Reading on the FAQ .....
4.4) I use prelinking, but after performing some updates, all, or
some, binaries are 'BAD' when running the MD5 hash check.
What can I do?
The first thing would be to verify that the update is the cause
of the reported 'BAD' files. Checking the system log files
should indicate what has been updated.
Could someone spell out to me what I need to check to verify that some update could of changed greps dep's? I have seen a similar question asked
on this list where the user was instructed to update to 1.2.9 and update it using --update and then execute hashupd.
I am currently running version 1.2.9. I have not yet downloaded hashupd... I am sure that this will fix my problem but first I would like to
confirm/check what, when and why the dep's got changed if it is possible?
#rpm -Vf /bin/grep
prelink: /bin/grep: at least one of file's dependencies has changed since
prelinking
S.?..... /bin/grep
Regards,
George
