I have just installed rh 8..everything has gone fine except for one little > problem. Would you mind telling us what you are connected to.... you cannot stay connected to what for no longer than 8 min, other computers, the internet, just what exactly. This will help define whether it is DHCP, your dial-up, or several other things. Rather than us speculate, please redefine your problem. =================================== Sure can and am sorry i wasnt clear. I am running a server with rh8 dedicated. I have it linked with other servers. My problems is that when some one wants to connect to my server and that includes me from the outsie, we aare unable to stay connected longer than 8 minutes. Usually its on 2-4 minutes. The serever is being used for a chat server. It is connected to a cable line. I have tried even doing a ping every min which doesnt make a difference. Still kicks the user out. Ihave gone thry config files to see if anything may have been missed or should have been checked and all appears to be ok. I am the only one out of a group of 9 people in this network with 2 of us using rh, that is having this problem, And quite frankly we are stumpted at the moment.
