depends on how much stuff you have to restore on your linux box and how the drive is partitioned. keep in mind that you can delete the windows partition and divide it into partitions that can be uses on the linux side for instance if you are running out of space on home you can create a monster home partition and us that freeing the spce for other dirs on the same partition why dont you post the output of fdisk -l and mount so we can see how the drive is set up now.
