Hey gang,

I remember a bunch of us had recompile problems with the upgraded
kernel back in Julyish of 2001, but I've gone through the archive &
can't figure out what the fix was.

upgraded all errata on my reinstalled 6.2 box. When i try to
recompile the 2.2.22-6.2.3 kernel, I get errors when it gets to the
networking modules, esp the ip_masq stuff. I'm not in front of the
machine, so I don't recall the exact errors. Does anyone out there
remember what the fix for this is?

Also, IIRC there is no worry about breaking the machine by upgrading
the kernel sources & compiling from them, right? IIRC, I had 2.4
kernel on my box before I killed it last week. I think I'd mayabe go
so far as to put the newest 8.0 kernel (2.4.18-18.7) on the machine &
use that to run the system. All the rest of the utilities should
work just fine, as far as I can tell.

One last thing. Could someone please explain the difference to me
between the kernel-source-2.xxx and the kernel-2.xxx.src rpm's?

        Thanks,

                Tom
