Mine are in /etc/resolve.conf search localhost bla bla bla nameserver 111.222.333.444 nameserver 555.666.777.888
but 8.0 has a wonderful gui for it (after you know how to do it in the dark place). Use 'Start Here' then 'System Settings' then 'Network' Select the 'DNS' tab and add your servers. This will add your entries to the 'search' line in the resolve.conf file. It will also (at least on mine) add a nameserver 127.0.0.1 line This seems to be working for me. Good luck.
