I had a similar problem with an HP Photosmart I think the work around for
installing it as a network printer was to tell it you were doing a local
install it complained that it wasn't there but installed then I changed
the port. I know I found the workaround in the hp forum for the printer
unfortunately it was along time ago the printer died over a year ago
so I am sort of fuzy on what I did to make it work but if the dig
around on hps site for how to use it as a network printer you
should be able to find exact instructions. They actually have real
people who answer questions sometimes they even have solutions!
