I just upgraded from the version of MySQL on the RedHat 8.0 CD to the
latest, 3.23.54a. Much to my surprise, and alarm, I can't start the
database. When I try to run mysql, mysqladmin, or any other mysql
binary, even right from the /usr/local/mysql/bin directory it comes back
with a "command not found" error. I've tired installing from the RPMs
and the binary distribution both with the same results. I also installed
mnogosearch and got the same thing with the indexer executable from
that. I'm totally at a loss as to why this would happen, and how to fix
it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
