I would think the easiest way is to install the smp kernel off of the RedHat 8.0 CD 1.
They are located in the /RedHat/RPMS/ directory. Choose one of the following, depending on what type of system you have (athlon or intel). kernel-smp-2.4.18-14.athlon.rpm kernel-smp-2.4.18-14.i686.rpm Then, just do a rpm -Uvh <kernel rpm filename> Hope this helps :) -Jon On Sun, 2002-12-15 at 00:51, Mike Deskevich wrote: > hi all, i have a quick question. i've been using redhat linux since > 7.0 on an old dual pentium mmx 200. every time installed redhat in the > past, the installer noticed i had a dual processor and it installed > both the smp and regular kernels. today i just installed 8.0 and i > noticed that only the single processor kernel got installed. i'm not > a linux guru, so i'm in the need of some help. what would be the > easiest (i.e. i really am not in the mood to roll my own kernel) way > for me to get the smp kernels installed? > > thanks, > mike > mikedeskevich hat yahoo daht com > > __________________________________________________ > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
