Hi all, Please excuse a possibly dumb question from a newbie. I am evaluating rh8 for a small local government and a couple of local NGOs. So far the most significant single glitch I have encountered is the extremely slow speed of the graphic interface. The platform is my 750mhz laptop with 256 mb ram, default rh8 personal workstation install.
When comparing the performance of the GIU and related applications Open Office or Star Office take minutes to load where MS Office 2000 on Win2K pro will take 10-15 seconds on the same machine. It seems as though the Office Productivity applications take far longer to load than web browsers or Ximian Evolution. Is this normal? Is it tweakable? All input gratefully appreciated.
