Well, I haven't cracked LILO open for a while. But I recall that each
characer of LILO printed indicates success at completing another step of
the booting process; where it stops tells you what went wrong. That is,
if you open the source and go look (or, probably, go to groups.google.com
and search there.)
If this isn't enough to get you through your questions, send me E-mail and
I'll go open LILO again and see what it's saying.
