I've had a similar problem with my Okidata OL-810e I fixed it by using the "redhat-config-printer-gui" tool, selecting the print queue from the list and clicking on the "Edit" toolbar button, then selecting the DRIVER OPTIONS tab in the resulting window and trying the "send EOT" and "send Form Feed" options.
I don't remember which combination worked, but there are only 4 possible, and you already tried one, so you get three shots :) -Ben.
