See whether kudzu does it. Try taking out the kudzu option from
the corresponding entry in /etc/fstab.

All of these entries in /etc/modules.conf are no longer required for
quite some time. That HowTo is out-of-date. The single kernel boot
option "hdd=ide-scsi" is enough.
