This appears to be related to the UTF-8 locales.(Unicode) You can try 'env LANG=C make menuconfig' (etc.) See /usr/share/doc/redhat-release-8.0/RELEASE-NOTES-i386 and search for "Distribution General Notes" Another possibility suggested on the psyche mailing list: # unicode_stop # make menuconfig # unicode_start I haven't tried the above work around personally.
