hmmmmmm. wonder how they sell them so cheap? maybe b/c there's virtually NO support.! sometimes the price of a system is considering more than just the hardware. any monkey can put an intel mobo in a case. not to be slamming Dell but in the field I'm in I see this exact thing all the time. too often the result is some poor admin who has to pay a services company to come out and help out. in the end you've spent more than if you would have just went w/ a manufacturer that costs a little more & actually provides real support.
good luck w/ your problem though. I've been there many a late night and weekend workin like hell to get them running before 8 am monday. just out of curiosity, why didn't you just build your own web server? c -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ben Russo Sent: Thursday, December 05, 2002 3:25 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Dell(TM) PowerEdge(TM) Web Server Version 3.1 Powered by RedHat Linux Tried sending an e-mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] They provide much better support than the Generic Dell support on the phone, and many of the Dell programers that package up the stuff browse the list. Many times they will gladly post a URL to fetch some Dell utility or source for the utility if someone asks for it.
