Did you check the Red Hat hardware compatibility list 
(http://hardware.redhat.com), to see if the DSL modem in question is even 
supported?

In reality, the only advice I can give you is to exchange it for an 
ethernet based DSL modem.  It really is the easier, and better way to go, 
in my personal opinion.
