Hm. I've used j2re-1.4.0 from sun.com and pointed OO to /usr/lib/j****
(can't check, I'm at work) - no problem whatsoever.

That sounds as if it can't find the file - do you have your Java in an
unusual location? Maybe you need to tell ldconfig about it?
