You might be able to change the owner to those of a user.

# Let's make another copy so we can get back to where we were
# Let's assume there is a user doc with a home directory /home/doc
mkdir /home/doc/StarOffice # or some other suitable name
# This next command will take a little time probably
cp -r /whereverStarOfficeResides /home/doc/StarOffice 
#
# OK now change some permissions. The second doc could be some other group
# 
chown -r doc:doc /home/doc/StarOffice

Now, logon as doc # or some other suitable name and have a go
