Hi,

I tried to install RedHat 5.2 on a i486 laptop with 2,1GB 2,5" toshiba hard
drive.
The installation went fine, but after installing LILO didn't boot, and hang
after two letters
LI.
I tried to escape this problem by creating a seperate /boot partition of 16MB
below
the 1023th cylinder, because the old BIOS of this system cannot handle large
HD's,
but the problem still exists.

Second problem is, when I try to boot with boot diskette, the computer hangs
after
messaging "unable to open an initial console". This problem seems to be there
since I created the seperate /boot partition.

Using the rescue diskette, I could not find problems with the ext2 filesystem,
everything
was accessible.

Is someone familiar with (one of) these problems?

Thanks, Bastiaan Welmers
