now now ... it's common knowledge that microsoft has been investing
a lot more time lately in watching and responding to the linux threat,
as they see it.  take it for granted that MS has lurkers on any
major linux-related discussion forum.

in fact, strictly for amusement, you might surf over to www.microsoft.com
and do a search for "linux".  what comes up is predominantly links for how
to *migrate* from linux to windows for a number of applications.
