On the wireless card some of the cards are complied using version 1.2 of the wireless toolkit but your version of redhat uses 1.3 and the encryption doesn't work right. If this is your problem when you run /sbin/iwconfig etho enc <encrytion key>, You will get a message saying that this driver was compiled using version 1.2 but we are using version 1.3 Somethings may be broken. My wavelan is like that you either need to disable encryption on the access point, or find a compatible driver and recompile. /dev/pilot or /dev/visor are usually symlinks to the ports the Hot Synch docs are attached to. You need to create a symlink from that device to /dev/pilot. ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/pilot is the command if you have a serial dock attahced to com port 1. There is a mini-howto on the the linux documentation project website that explains it in detail (www.tldp.org).
