oh, my. it seems that even microsoft's and bill gates' millions and arm-twisting weren't enough. according to an article in "india times" (and linked to from a recent article at linuxtoday.com),
"BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh has shut the door on Bill Gates. The state government schemes will use Linux software. Chief minister Digvijay Singh personally conveyed this to Microsoft boss Bill Gates during an interaction last week in New Delhi." there's more, worth reading, but apparently even tens of millions of dollars in "humanitarian" aid (a.k.a. bribery) wasn't enough to swing it. one wonders just how soon india will be getting any more charity from bill. rday Robert P.
