I'm on a 7.3 system and am trying to link a program to some of the w3c-libwww libraries. It appears that none of the libraries have a corresponding .so symlink. They all seem to have a *.so.0 symlink. Gcc (2.96 and 3.0.4) both complain about not being able to find the libraries to link to. If I manually create the symlink, then the compiler doesn't complain. Seems like the distribution should have these symlinks already.
