So you need at least 5MB more diskspace. Note that the kernel rpm's are already something like 13MB, installed they will take up about double that amount of space, mostly on the root file system. I would also expect the kernels to both be available at a certain stage during the upgrade, so I am not sure if you might even need more diskspace. I would suggest you make yourself a /home/root directory and move some of the stuff you stored under /root to /home/root.
