James, how could unsubscribing be easier than mailing an empty
message with the subject line "unsubscribe" to the special address
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>?

The list footer reads:

  redhat-list mailing list
  unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe
  https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list

Notice the second line. It's not the person administering this list.
The list admin has better things to do than unsubscribing people
manually. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> is an auto-reply bot
which understands a variety of commands. Try sending an empty
message with the subject "help" to it.

Notice the third line. At the bottom of the page you can enter your
e-mail address to access your list options. One of those options is
unsubscription.
