script problem at startup

I did a boo-boo...I put a script in startup and now it hangs and won't let it finis booting. It just sits at the point where the script is running. How do I get into a safe mode to stop the script from starting? Thanks..   By the way, it is a script to put in mount mappings for samba. How would you all do this so it won't put me in this situation?  Thanks again..       Donnie
