Procmail needs sendmail, "badly" :) It will, however, forward mail, but it will just tell sendmail to send it wherever you wanted it set. > 2) I'm also thinking they should use DNSBL so I guess that means using > rblcheck? Would this then be using Sendmail, Procmail, AND rblcheck? Yep, but no biggie. > 3) I see procmail mentioned a lot. Anyone think there is a better way of > doing it? I love procmail. I've never used it for anti-virus but I've heard of that being done. I've used it against spam for some time now. Some people swear by SpamAssassin, which comes with RH now. > 4) Is there a open-source or inexpensive anti-virus solution available > for smtp servers? Searching www.freshmeat.net for "virus" and "mail" shows dozens of projects, change the search to sort by Rating to get a good idea of popularity. > For it to be worth it, I figure any mail that gets tagged as spam or > containing a virus will need to be held somewhere for someone to go > through it. Dunno, I have my procmail do this for spam, most of the virus stuff I'd get working, then delete it. Virus infections are quite binary, it's infected with Klez or it's not. -- \ \/ / _ |~\ _ In God We Trust.
