You might want to consult appendix H of the Official Red Hat Linux Installation Guide and try some of the available boot options, e.g. "ide=nodma". Your problem sounds much as if it is related to a hardware problem, e.g. bad RAM chips, bad HDD, fatal disk I/O errors and kernel panic. Also watch the virtual consoles (Ctrl+Alt+F1 to Ctrl+Alt+F5) whether they give a clue on any fatal [kernel] errors, I think Ctrl+Alt+F4. - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9z7cw0iMVcrivHFQRApoVAJ0do2CH3xX2c/bZuFRD3VPtgqrbZgCePp6j jy/E2VWmPh7uARn6T0U2qKo= =RZje -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@;redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
